Calmar Pain Relief with Scrambler Therapy provided by Stephen J. D'Amato, MD FACEP

Scrambler Therapy

Calmar is the only clinical ST treatment center in the world providing treatment for severe, chronic, neuropathic pain exclusively utilizing this technology. Dr. D’Amato has trained doctors and nurses from the Mayo Clinic, Johns Hopkins, Harvard Medical Center, and others on the administration of ST. Doctors from these hospitals and many others continue to refer patients to Dr. D’Amato and his medical staff at Calmar.

The treatment involves a computerized medical device that applies a low-amperage electric signal that transmits non-pain information through surface electrodes on the skin (similar to an EKG) to surface nerve receptors. Scrambler Therapy synthesizes 16 different types of nerve action, assembles them into sequences, and uses algorithms to determine patient-specific electrostimulation to reduce and eliminate pain. ST replaces the “pain” information with artificial “non-pain” information. Treatment takes a maximum of two-weeks to take effect.
